The long-established concert series known as Midweek Music held at Christ Church on Lord Street in Southport is to restart this Wednesday (22nd September).
There will be an interesting programme of performers from the Royal Northern College of Music, Chetham’s School of Music and talented local professional musicians.
Many musicians enjoy performing at Christ Church as they like the venue and the audience, and so they make return visits.
The concerts have been running for over 20 years with the audience building from about 30 to over 120 before the pandemic forced cancellation.
Midweek Music started when the new church was opened and formed part of the mission to have the church open every day for the people of Southport.
Each concert will start at 1pm and last for about 45 minutes.
The series will restart with Eleanor Kelly who is a classical guitarist based in Merseyside.
Attending a concert is a relaxing and safe way to experience one of the activities at Christ Church, a number of which are restarting in September.
The church cafe known as Cafe 1821 is open so please come along to enjoy good food and good music.
If you are a musician and would like to perform at Midweek Music then please contact the church office, details can be found on the church website christchurchsouthport.org.uk.
The programme of concerts for Autumn 2022 can also be found on the church website and some highlights from past concerts.
