Mark Paterson

There has been a change to the line-up for this year’s pantomime being held at The Atkinson, Southport this December.

Dean Sullivan will no longer be performing in the role of Fleshcreep, as previously advertised and it will now be played by Mark Paterson.

Mark Paterson is no stranger to pantomime, and he has captivated audiences in almost every pantomime title from Cinderella at The Grand Theatre, Blackpool, to Snow White at the Sunderland Empire, as well as travelling the world performing in Horrible Histories.

Mark said: “I am thrilled to be performing in pantomime in Southport this Christmas. Pantomimes are such a joy to be a part of and I look forward to immersing myself in the role of Fleshcreep and encouraging loud boos and hissing at all times!

“I am looking forward to getting to know the cast and entertaining people of all ages during the festive season. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Dean Sullivan, best known for playing Jimmy Corkhill in Channel 4’s Brookside, has with great regret had to withdraw from the role as the show’s baddie due to personal unforeseen circumstances.

Dean said: “This pantomime is going to be such a great production with a brilliantly talented cast and anyone who goes to the show can be sure that they will have a great time being entertained by such a gifted bunch of actors. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone to this point and I know that they’ll have a brilliant festive season. I hope to be back at The Atkinson theatre soon and am so sorry I cannot be there this year as I had planned.”

Jack and the Beanstalk is at The Atkinson in Southport from December 7th to 31st. Go to www.theatkinson.co.uk for more information.
