Uniform Public Service students from KGV Sixth Form College in Southport embarked on a sponsored walk in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to raise vital funds for the lifesaving charity during its special 200th anniversary year.
The walk began from the Crosby RNLI Lifeguard Unit and finished at the Southport RNLI Lifeguard Unit, taking the students a total of six hours averaging at around a whopping 30,000 steps!
Their efforts raised over £500 for the RNLI which will go towards funding their fantastic, lifesaving work across the UK and Irish coastlines.
Andy Jordan, Lead Lifeguard Supervisor in the Crosby area said:
“What a great achievement by these students and we’re delighted they chose to raise money for the RNLI to help us continue saving lives at sea.
“A big part of our RNLI 200 celebrations this year are about inspiring the next generation of lifesavers, and any one of these students could potentially be a future lifeguard or lifeboat crew.
“Thank you to everyone involved and we wish all the students the best of luck with the rest of their studies.”
