Jo Sloanes Interiors is saying goodbye to its Southport design studio and moving to a more flexible way of working, to adapt to the changing way they operate.
The business has been based at 285 Liverpool Road in Birkdale for the past 10 years, as Jo Sloanes kept “growing and growing and growing”.
They now spend most of their time in client’s homes, helping home owners shape their perfect space with bespoke interior design projects.
Whether customers are at the start of a renovation or refining the final touches, the team at Jo Sloanes can help them to connect, collaborate, and bring their vision to life.
Vikki from Jo Sloanes Interiors said: “Well, what a journey it’s been!
“I started my little interior design business back in 2010, and in 2016 took the plunge and opened our lovely shop on Liverpool Road — part interiors shop, part design studio and, more often, part social club!
“Four years later, the interior design side of the business had grown so much that something had to give. So we said goodbye to the retail side and became an appointment-only interior design studio.
“And somehow, we just kept growing… and growing… along with an alarming amount of furniture, fabrics, cushions, lamps and things that I absolutely need for a client one day (or for myself)!
“Fast forward to 2026 and the way we work has changed completely. With almost all of our interior design work now taking place in our clients’ homes, we simply don’t need a high-street studio anymore.
“So we’re saying goodbye to Liverpool Road, moving all of our furniture, fabrics and samples into much larger storage and embracing a more flexible way of working — online and most importantly, in our clients’ homes, where the real magic happens!
“It means less time and expense looking after premises we no longer need, and more time doing what we actually love — designing beautiful homes and taking on some really exciting projects.
“So, just to be clear…we are moving, not closing!
“Quite the opposite. Business is busier than ever and it’s very much business as usual — just without the shopfront!
“I’ve met some absolutely wonderful — and wonderfully colourful! — characters during my years at Liverpool Road. I’ve made some close friends, worked with some fabulous clients and have so many lovely memories tied up in this little place.
“But the time has come to hand back the keys, close the door and start an exciting new chapter.
“Goodbye Liverpool Road… you’ve been good to us.
“Here’s to the next chapter! 🥂
“We are having a one day sale on Saturday 28th November 2026 between 10am and 4pm.”
