Hundreds of runners turned their town into a sea of red as the annual Southport Santa Sprint for Queenscourt Hospice took place. 

The popular annual event saw families from across the region come together to raise funds for their local hospice, which supports families at times when they need it most across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. 

Runners met outside Silcock’s Funland and enjoyed free rides on the Carousel.

They also enjoyed free 18-hole games of crazy golf at Masters Putting Green with the chance to ‘Beet Queenie’ with the chance to win a £100 prize from Masters Putting Green or one of two £50 vouchers from Pizzeria Mamma Mia restaurant in Southport. 

Southport Santa Sprint sponsors included Silcock Leisure Group, Tik Taco and Replica Print.

There was brilliant singing and hosting once again by Hayley Jones while Sharon Stock from Dairy Holistic Hub was there to put runners through their paces in the pre-race warm-up.

After the event, race-goers were able to call into The Grand on Lord Street for free hot drinks and cake.
