Organisers of the 2024 Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards have thanked the local businesses involved in supporting this year’s event.

The Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards are now in their second year, after a hugely successful first year in 2023 which saw over 1,200 nominations received across 13 different categories through people from across Sefton.

It saw some outstanding unsung heroes from Southport, Bootle, Formby, Crosby, Maghull and elsewhere in the borough honoured for their inspirational work.

Among the winners last year were Main Award winner, Kath Wilson, who founded the Southport Lifeboat charity and service, which has saved the lives of scores of people along our coastline. Marina and Sir Kenny Dalglish were honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group Chairman Andrew Mikhail said:

“We were overwhelmed with the success of last year’s Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards.

“The nominations we received were very humbling and it was an honour to be able to formally celebrate some of the outstanding local heroes who make such a difference in our communities across Sefton.

“We are delighted to be able to stage the Pride Of Sefton Awards once again this year, on what is going to be another exceptional, emotional and inspirational night at The Grand in Southport.

“We can see from the nominations we have received already that the judges have a very difficult task ahead of them.

“This magnificent community event would not be possible without the local businesses which sponsor the various categories and we are very grateful for their ongoing support.”
