Free goodie bags will be given away as The Fragrance Shop, the UK’s largest independent fragrance retailer, officially opens its 200th branded store in Southport this weekend.

The venture opened its doors at 40 Chapel Street, next door to Marks & Spencer, last weekend, but enjoys its official launch this Saturday (31st July).

The past 18 months have been tough for the Great British high street, with many retailers forced to close for months on end as the Coronavirus pandemic hit the UK.

However, this hasn’t stopped The Fragrance Shop, which has seen exponential online and instore growth during this period, with business booming.

The launch of its brand new Southport store has seen the company reach the impressive milestone of 200 The Fragrance Shop branded stores across the UK, bringing its overall portfolio to 203 stores.

The new Southport store will create five new jobs in the town and will be marked with a launch event this Saturday (31st July), where The Fragrance Shop will give away free goodie bags to the first 15 customers through the door.

Customers will also be gifted with exclusive discounts on the day, which includes 10% off your order, or £5 off a spend of £30+.

The store will also mark the festivities with a party vibe complete with balloons and music. Sanjay Vadera, owner and CEO of The Fragrance Shop, said: “This is a huge milestone for the company – we are a family business, and now we’re celebrating our 200th The Fragrance Shop store, bringing our overall store portfolio to 203 across the UK.

“Also, as a business founded and headquartered in the North West, it’s an added bonus that our 200th branded store is opening in Southport, right here in the North West.

“The past 18 months have been challenging for consumers and the UK high street as a whole, but it’s a testament to our customers that we are able to keep growing and opening new stores to keep up with demand.

“We’re dedicated to continuing expanding our physical store presence, allowing The Fragrance Shop to deliver our passion, innovation and expertise to our dedicated shoppers face to face, and offer more jobs to local people to boost the economy.

“With The Fragrance Shop continuing to grow – both in-store and online – we have more exciting plans in the pipeline for the future, so watch this space!”

The business has no plans to slow down any time soon – The Fragrance Shop has an ambitious target ahead: To open 20 new stores a year, which not only gives a boost to the UK high street, but also opens up new jobs and gives shoppers the tangible in-store retail experience they love.

For customers who are not yet comfortable shopping in-store, The Fragrance Shop has a range of online initiatives to ensure shoppers can still enjoy the full range of products and the high level of service from home. Services like Fragrance Match and Fragrance Experts mean online shoppers don’t miss out on personalised recommendations and perfumer expertise, so all customers are able to receive the same level of expert service that customers have come to expect when visiting The Fragrance Shop.
