Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa will celebrate its 30th anniversary in August 2026 with a month of planned activities, starting with an appeal for local people to share their photographs, videos and memories of the Resort over the past three decades. The Resort opened its 18-hole golf course in August 1996, and since then it has brought together families and the local community to what has become a landmark hotel in Formby.

Thirty years later, the Resort is inviting members, former guests, families and residents across Formby, Southport, Liverpool and the surrounding area to contribute stories of weddings, Christmas parties, charity events, spa visits, corporate gatherings and memorable days on the course in order to revisit Formby Hall’s history through the eyes of its visitors.

As part of the celebrations, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spawill host an unforgettable 90s-themed birthday brunch on 29th of August 2026. For one afternoon only, the hotel will be turning back the clock to 1996 with live entertainment, nostalgic food, classic cocktails and the decade’s biggest anthems

In addition to the memories shared by guests, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa has already selected some of the Resort’s most memorable moments, including the Premier League Trophy visiting ahead of the 2017 Open at Royal Birkdale and videos of famous golfers who have played the course.

“Formby Hall’s 30th anniversary is all about looking back at the Resort’s history and the people who have been part of it. We know there are so many stories, photographs and memories held by our golf members, guests and local families, and we would love to see them”, said David Goscombe, Golf Director at Formby Hall, who has been associated with the club for more than a decade. “This anniversary feels like the right time to bring them together and celebrate the role the Resort has played in local life.

Anyone wishing to take part is encouraged to share their memories by contacting the Resort directly through social media or by phone or email. Details can be found on the Resort’s website.
