A Southport-based events firm is helping local businesses to get up and running during and after the coronavirus lockdown eases.

Staff at Magnetic Activation are usually busy this time of year providing event build and branding at events including the Grand National, England Rugby matches, all of the summer’s international cricket fixtures and a host of music festivals.

But after major events across the UK were cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak they are now working hard to ensure that local businesses in our area are able to reopen in a safe manner for both staff and customers.

They offer: Coronavirus safety stickers; screens and barriers; advice and consultation on the placement of products; installation, outside of shop opening hours to minimise disruption; and all aspects of branding and signage.

Connor Brown, from Magnetic Activation, said: “Shops, other businesses and customers are coming to terms with social distancing and the importance that plays in stopping the spread of Coronavirus.”

“Following the latest government projections, social distancing is likely to remain in force for some time after the current movement restrictions are relaxed and more importantly, research has indicated that customers would feel more comfortable if they were.

“I’ve observed people out shopping, standing where they thought was appropriate to do so, but there needs to be better measures in place.”

Businesses across the UK are starting to talk now about when they will be able to reopen while Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to appear this Sunday to reveal his plans for easing the lockdown. It is their interest to try and get back up and running as quickly and as safely as possible, albeit in ‘the new normal’.

Magnetic Activation has been speaking with businesses about their new service from Southport up to Formby, Burscough and Ormskirk, and covers much of the North West area.

Connor said: “We are a local business ourselves, significantly affected by Coronavirus. Our background is event branding and display with clients including Sharp’s Brewery, EA SPORTS & NatWest. Our most notable work in Southport was the Summer Of Golf Fan Zone where we worked alongside Sefton Council to deliver the first major city fanzone during The Open Championships.

“We are now diversifying whilst also looking at ways we can apply our expertise to our local communities.”

The firm has created coronavirus lockdown safety equipment and signage available for local shops, offices, schools, churches, sports clubs and other venues who may need it for when life slowly starts to return to a new kind of normality. We are all waiting to see what that looks like.

Connor said: “With everything we have, in terms of coronavirus safety stickers, screens and barriers, advice and everything else, we have a fully comprehensive package which will allow them to reopen safely and quickly.

“In offices, we can install acrylic screens between people’s desks so that people can go back to work with confidence.

“We have already installed a number of stores across the North West and have another batch of stores to install this week in Southport.

“Our product catalogue is evolving all the time and we react very quickly to all the very latest Government advice and legislation surrounding coronavirus.

“Businesses need to be considering now what safety measures they will have in place, such as sneeze screens, store capacities, one way systems, safe queue distancing markers, responsibly-placed crowd / queue controls outside of their stores, etc.

“Whilst we are currently already working with a number of local independent businesses in the Sefton and West Lancashire area, we can also fulfil high volume orders and install them at larger firms.”
