Queenscourt Hospice is hosting a Shark Dive at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire

Today (Saturday 18th April 2026), twelve fearless supporters of Queenscourt Hospice are preparing to take fundraising to new depths as they dive into the shark tank at the Blue Planet Aquarium, Cheshire.

In a truly unforgettable experience, the group will enter the Caribbean Reef exhibit, swimming alongside an array of impressive marine life including Sand Tiger Sharks, Lemon Sharks and Nurse Sharks. Every moment in the water is in aid of raising essential funds for Queenscourt Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care to patients and families across West Lancashire, Southport, and Formby.

A Word from Samantha

Samantha Nelson, Community & Challenge Events Fundraiser, at Queenscourt Hospice shared her thoughts ahead of the dive:

“This is an exciting and slightly nerve-wracking challenge, but it means so much to everyone involved. Every donation, message of support and word of encouragement truly makes a difference. Knowing people are backing our divers gives them that extra push to take the plunge and make it count”

Get Involved

The team’s fundraising efforts are still underway and supporters are invited to get behind them and give what they can.

Queenscourt Hospice has recently relaunched its Keep Queenscourt in Service campaign to raise emergency funds, as it faces the most financially challenging period in its 35-year history. With only around 24% of funding coming from the NHS and rising costs creating a £2 million deficit, support from fundraising events like this has never been more vital.
