The Elite Events team are celebrating being part of a record breaking British Musical Fireworks Championship in Southport – and now they’re coming back to Victoria Park with a bang this week!
Elite Events were out in force with a series of bars around the park on Saturday and Sunday, as over 20,000 visitors enjoyed watching six spectacular pyrotechnic displays.
They’ve been straight back to work, building the luxury marquees which will host the 15th annual Southport Comedy Festival in association with Halliwell Jones Kia Southport.
The festival opens on Friday night (2nd October 2026) with a long sold-out show for comedy legend Jason Byrne and continues until Sunday 18th October 2026.
Jason Byrne will be followed by acts including Jason Manford, Paul Merton with Suki Webster, Adam Kay, Jimeoin, Clinton Baptiste, Henning Wehn, Gary Delaney, Paul Sinha, Mike Wozniak, Scott Bennett, Seann Walsh and more.
Festival-goers can also enjoy Southport New Comedian Of The Year in association with Dragon Soop, Comedy Bingo Back To The 90’s, and Best of The Fest.
The installation of the huge marquees for Southport Comedy Festival has been taking place, all ready for thousands of comedy-goers to arrive from across the UK.
This year there are seven sold-out shows already plus others selling fast.
For the first time, there are three matinee performances in addition to evening shows, with all the infrastructure needed in place.
Spectators can enjoy the event in impressive luxury, with the marquees fully heated, seated, and carpeted, with top quality sound and lighting.
Elite Events hosts a large and fully-stocked bar on-site once again within a sizable separate bar area near the main auditorium, so people can enjoy a drink or two before and after the shows, as well as during intervals.
Hungry? The award-winning Tik Taco Mexican Cantina from Southport will be there serving up delicious tacos, nachos and dirty fries, all freshly made.
There is free parking at Victoria Park too.

“They have another huge line-up of huge comedy names, with seven shows sold out at the last count. It’s such a brilliant event.

“As an event it keeps growing every year. Now we see 500 people at each show – this time, with sometimes two shows in one day!
“There are comedians performing across 17 separate events, so it will be a busy three weeks.

“Matinee shows are one of the differences this year, with daytime events becoming more and more popular for people.

Then on Saturday 31st October 2026, there will be two sessions of Halloween Comedy Bingo, hosted by Brendan Riley, inside the Elite Events Marquee.
