Also known as Greatest Days, the musical premiered as The Band at the Manchester Opera House in 2017 before touring the rest of the UK and Ireland and premiering in the West End in 2018. The Band in the show was originally cast through the 2017 BBC reality show Let It Shine and a film adaptation, titled Greatest Days, was released in summer 2023. With many of Take That’s greatest hits such as, ‘Pray’, ‘Relight My Fire’, ‘Shine’ and ‘Never Forget’, we can’t wait to bring this fun, British musical to the stage.

The Band follows the story of five teenage girls in 1992 who are inseparable friends, united by their shared love for their favourite boy band. For these girls, “the band” is everything – it’s their escape, their passion and the soundtrack to their lives. However, life takes them in different directions and they lose touch with each other.

Fast forward 25 years and the now-adult women reunite when one of them wins a competition to see their beloved band perform in Prague. Despite the years and the challenges life has thrown at them, their shared love of “the band” rekindles their friendship. Together, they embark on a hilarious and heartfelt journey of nostalgia, discovery, and reconnection.

Craig Billington from BOS Musical Theatre Company said:

“For six more shows, I get to live every singer’s dream. Standing on stage with some of my best mates, pretending we’re in a boy band, singing songs by my favourite band of all time, Take That. And I’m absolutely loving every second!

“But this is about so much more than a show.

“Societies like BOS are so important to our town. They’re not just about theatre. They’re about friendship, confidence, belonging and giving people a safe space to be themselves, escape everyday worries and do something they love.

Please come and support us. Come and watch me and my mates pretend we’re Take That, sing along to some brilliant songs, and support every single talented person on that stage.

“To you, it’s a night out. To us, it’s helping keep something really special alive in our community.
