A doctor described as “a joy to work with” has won the Clinical Mentor of the Year Award.
Dr Craig Rimmer was given the accolade at the 2023 Time To Shine Awards at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa.
He was among NHS colleagues at Southport Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital congratulated for their achievements.
Dr Rimmer is a considerate teacher and supervisor.
He offers excellent guidance and support and always promotes compassionate care and excellence amongst trainees.
His knowledge and dedication to patients is imprinted on the minds of many young doctors.
A Finalist in the category is Helen Andoniou-Oliver.
Helen is an exceptional role model who does all she can to ensure trainee nurses under her supervision receive the best learning experience possible.
She goes above and beyond to provide exceptional support when it is needed most and is a much-loved mentor.
Another Finalist is Aisling McGrath.
Aisling has been described as an “incredible’’ mentor who is “amazing at what she does.’’
She always makes time for those she is supporting.
Despite being incredibly busy with her own patients Aisling always supports her students’ learning and emotional needs to provide the best environment possible to develop our future workforce.
Individuals and teams from a wide range of areas were celebrated for their “amazing commitment’’ to providing the best possible care for local patients and their families at the 2023 Time to Shine Awards.
It was hosted by Liverpool radio personality Peter Price while sponsors included Vinci Facilities, Hill Dickinson and Weightmans.
Chief Executive Ann Marr OBE said: I have been highly impressed by all of the inspiring nominations we received from colleagues, patients and members of the public and the message I would like to pass on is that you should never underestimate the difference you make to those around you, each and every day.’’
