Two family-owned local businesses will be right in the centre of the action when Southport Festive Fun Day – ‘Southport’s biggest Christmas party’ – takes place this Saturday (23rd November 2024).

Crave Pizza and The Pavilion are both situated in the Town Hall Gardens in Southport town centre, right next to the section of Lord Street which will be closed off as it hosts a day packed with superb live entertainment.

Families will be able to enjoy appearances by Gemma Collins, Lemar, Toploader, 14 local dance schools, fairground rides, bitesize pantos, and more.

Crave Pizza will be open, selling delicious American New York pizza by the slice, as well as chilli beef nachos.

People can also call in for a warming drink, soft drinks, cold beers or a glass of wine.

Festive merchandise will be on sale outside.

The Pavilion meanwhile will be closed for diners inside but will be providing a delicious BBQ outside, cooking burgers, hot dogs, fries and more, while also serving hot drinks.

Crave owners Matt and Rosie Gregson said: “We are really looking forward to seeing the big Southport Festive Fun Day!

“It’s a really exciting day for the whole of Southport, with lots of entertainment happening throughout the day.

“We’re really keen to see some of the acts performing.

“Inside Crave, we will be selling four types of New York pizza by the slice: pepperoni, margherita, meat feast plus ham and pineapple, along with chilli beef nachos.

“People can also enjoy our Baileys hot chocolates and mulled wine.

“We’ll be having a mini market outside Crave where people can buy light up wands, novelty toys and things like that.

“The Pavilion will be hosting a BBQ outside cooking delicious burgers, hot dogs and fries.

“All our team will be here with Christmas jumpers, Santa hats and looking very festive!

“We are all looking forward to a really busy day.”

The event is a big contrast to the events earlier this summer.

After the tragedy in July, the Town Hall Gardens became a sea of floral tributes.

Matt and Rosie from Crave provided water for all the flowers and took all the other tributes into their premises for safe keeping each night.

They said: “It was a very emotional summer. It’s really positive that the Town Hall Gardens this weekend will feature a really uplifting Festive Fun Day, bringing the whole town together.

“After the year that Southport has had, we need something like this.

“It is a real positive that the event will be so community focused.

“Children will be right at the heart of all the entertainment, with 14 local dance schools performing, and children also involved in the panto performances.

“It’s a great opportunity for local kids to showcase what they can do, and do what they enjoy.

“People should come out and support them! There is so much going on to enjoy.

“Southport has suffered badly this year and the Festive Fun Day is a great way of showing the world what Southport is all about, and saying to them – ‘please come and visit Southport this Christmas’.”
