A brand new wellbeing café which has opened in the heart of Birkdale Village in Southport is making families feel good, thanks to adventures around the world.

Cove coffee, café and wellbeing is welcoming people at 25-29 Liverpool Road, in the former bank building which was previously home to The Allotment.

It is being run by General manager Victoria Buist, 29, who has worked for Emirates Airlines, and Assistant Manager Beth Atherton, also 29, who worked for British Airways.

The two have been good friends since their school days at Christ The King High School in Birkdale and are now enjoying working together to create a friendly, welcoming space for visitors.

Cove is a café and community hub, fuelling wellness, igniting joy. It is a sanctuary for feelgood vibes.

Its mission is to create a friendly place in Birkdale Village, offering a space brimming with positive energy.

Customers can indulge in delectable, nutritious dishes and smoothies designed to nurture both body and spirit.

Explore their vibrant collection of wholesome foods and drinks – nourishing your body and soul with every bite.

You can eat in, eat on the terrace, or take it away.

Victoria said: “Beth and I have been friends for years. We have both travelled around the world through working for the airlines. I spent some time living in Dubai and used to love eating acai bowls all the time.

“When we opened we felt there was nowhere like Cove in Southport where you could call in and build your own acai bowl, or a delicious healthy smoothie. This is somewhere really new and different for Birkdale, which brings something really new to the Village.

“There are some great places nearby where you can go out for a few alcoholic drinks, but nowhere calm and relaxing like this.

“It’s similar to something you would find somewhere else in the world, or in a big city like Manchester. We thought the concept would work really well here.

“The reaction from people has been fantastic. We have had really good feedback from customers, and we are using that to develop our new menu, which we will be launching soon.

“We pride ourselves on serving the very best coffee we can; we had a customer this week who has been working in Italy, and he said ours is the best coffee he’s ever had. That’s a real compliment. People love our pastries from Butterholic Bakery, which has a really good following.”

Visitors can look forward to some great events coming to Cove.

Victoria said: “Keep looking at our social media pages for our latest news. We are enjoying working with some other local businesses to stage yoga and other events. We would love to hear from anyone else who is interested in working with us.

“You don’t have to be with anyone when you come in. We have a library here, so people can come in, read a book and then swap it with another one. We don’t want anyone to feel rushed.

“We have turned our old bank vaults into a co-working space, so you can open your laptop and work away with a great coffee and something to eat.

“We create little affirmations with our coffee, to give people a positive feeling.”

The unique Cove Birkdale menu includes dishes such as overnight oats, protein pancakes, brioche French toast, breakfast bowl, smoothie bowl, and the choice to build your own acai bowl.

The modern space is bathed in natural light thanks to huge windows, creating a vibrant atmosphere to savour delicious, feelgood fare.

No reservations are needed, feel free to walk in and grab a seat.

Well behaved four-legged friends are very welcome at Cove, with dog friendly zones inside, while on the outside terrace they can drink from the Doggy Hydration Station.
