Nominations are now open for the next Citizens 4 Good celebration, with Sefton residents invited to shine a spotlight on the individuals whose dedication, kindness and community spirit help make the borough a better place for everyone.
The autumn celebration will take place on Monday, 19th October at Southport Town Hall, bringing together community members from across Sefton to recognise people whose contributions deserve to be celebrated.
Delivered through a partnership between Sefton 4 Good, Sefton CVS and the Mayor of Sefton’s Office, Citizens 4 Good honours the people who go above and beyond for others, whether through volunteering, supporting neighbours, fundraising, community action or simply being there when they are needed most.
This year’s event continues to champion the message that every contribution matters and that positive change often starts with the actions of ordinary people who generously give their time, skills and energy to help others.
Catrin Hughes, lead organiser, said:
“Every community has people who quietly make a difference without expecting recognition. Citizens 4 Good is our opportunity to celebrate those individuals and thank them for everything they do. We know there are countless stories of kindness and dedication across Sefton, and we want to hear about them.”
Previous ceremonies have highlighted the incredible range of people making a difference across the borough. At the last celebration, recognition was given to mental health nurses who established a community group supporting men’s mental health, creating a safe and welcoming space for local people to connect and seek support. A young person committed to improving their neighbourhood through regular litter picking was also honoured for helping keep their local area clean and inviting for everyone.
All nominees attending the event will receive a certificate of recognition and be personally thanked by the Mayor of Sefton for their contribution to the community.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Organisers are looking for nominations for people who have:
- Made a positive impact within their local community
- Supported individuals, families or groups through kindness and compassion
- Raised awareness or funds for a cause close to their heart
- Volunteered their time to help others
- Developed projects, activities or groups that bring people together
- Inspired others through their actions and commitment
Whether their contribution is large or small, Citizens 4 Good aims to recognise the people whose actions make Sefton a stronger and more connected place.
