Southport charity Parenting 2000 was thrilled to be the first to receive a first prize cash donation from Skipton Building Society’s newly launched new Community Giving scheme.

Staff at the Southport Branch chose three local charities / not for profit groups who make a difference in their area.

Customers who visited this branch over a four-week period to vote for their favourite charity / group and Parenting 2000 received the most votes.

It was awarded £500 followed by £300 for the runner-up and a final £200 for the remaining good cause.

Janine Hyland, Chief Executive of Parenting 2000 said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this donation and thank Skipton Building Society and their customers. The money will be well used to buy some new sports equipment for our Alchemy Youth Club.”
