Children are excitedly looking forward to the final Breakfast With Santa mornings in Southport in the weekend before Christmas.

Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant has been hosting the family friendly events for the first time this December.

The last ones will take place this Saturday (21st December 2024) and Sunday (22nd December 2024) with both sessions close to being fully booked.

The mornings include a delicious breakfast; a festive gift; a visit from Father Christmas and his elves; and even a ride on the iconic Silcock’s Carousel.

You can either book online https://www.silcock-leisure.co.uk/breakfast-with-santa/  or you can also call in and get your tickets. Tickets cost £10 (plus booking free) per child.

The breakfasts have been taking place during December, and even carried on when Storm Darragh struck Southport earlier this month.

Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant is also part of this year’s Southport Gingerbread Trail, organised by Southport BID at locations throughout the town.

Santa’s Sleigh inside the restaurant is one of two official ‘Selfie Zones’ on the trail.

Silcock Leisure Group Operations Manager Serena Silcock-Prince said: “This is the first time we have held our Breakfast With Santa and they have been really popular. We are really pleased with how well they have gone.

“We can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas already! We’re excited to welcome our final families in to see us this weekend.

“It’s going to be such a lovely atmosphere. We love seeing the excitement on the children’s faces when Father Christmas and the Elves walk in.

“Visits to Santa can be expensive. At just £10 plus booking fee, we wanted to keep our costs very reasonable for families.

“They can make a real morning of it too, with a ride on our famous Carousel, while Funland is also open each day.”

Even Storm Darragh earlier this month didn’t deter families from coming.

Serena said: “Only three families cancelled; all the others wanted to come, so we went down and made it happen.

“As our family has always said, ‘the show must go on’!

“It was very blustery outside, but inside it was huge fun, and everyone enjoyed it. We had to close the Carousel because of the wind, so we gave the families vouchers to come back and enjoy a ride on another day.

“There is so much to enjoy in Southport at Christmas and we are enjoying being able to give a new experience for children this year.”

The Christmas decorations, the Christmas tree, Santa’s Sleigh and even a festive Carousel horse are all up inside Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant.

They make a great backdrop for pictures.

With Breakfast with Santa, there is a choice of breakfast – sausage, hash browns and baked beans or American pancakes with fruit and syrup.

There is a choice of drinks too with either Christmas hot chocolate or juice.

Food such as bacon or sausage barms and hash browns will be available for any adults to purchase too if they wish.

Children will be able to get a Christmas Goody Bag with a gift, prize tickets for Funland and a ride on the Carousel.
