Celebrity celebrity DJ Pete Price has spoken about how a meeting with an audiologist in Southport has “changed his life completely”.
As a figure who has spent his career speaking to listeners on his radio shows, telling jokes to audiences as a stand-up comedian and speaking to audiences as an event host, sound means everything to him.
Pete Price is one of the most well-known figures in the North West.
He hosted the Sunday night talk radio show Pete Price: Unzipped, which was broadcast across Liverpool sister stations Radio City and Radio City Talk.
He also had a weeknight phone-in, Late Night City, which aired on Radio City Talk and Radio City 2.
He currently broadcasts on Liverpool Live Radio every Sunday night.
After meeting with David Quilliam from Discretion Hearing in Southport, the radio presenter now broadcasts with the benefit of hearing aids, which he says has given him “a new quality of life.”
Pete Price told the Liverpool ECHO: “Two years ago I went to a fabulous birthday party.
“I was sitting with my lovely friend, Carolyn Hughes, who is one of the top award-winning PR consultants in Liverpool. We were having a conversation in a very noisy, lively, party atmosphere and for half an hour I didn’t hear a word she said, I was just nodding a lot and pretending.
“I told her later what had happened and it was that experience that made me decide something that I had been putting off for a long time. It was time for hearing aids.
“Discretion Hearing Ltd was recommended to me. David Quilliam, is an amazing audiologist, based in Southport and does home visits.
“What I loved about him. He was not tied to one product.
“He wasn’t pushing to get a deal. He just wanted to get it right for me with the best product for my needs.
