A block of flats could replace a former Royal British Legion site in Southport.
Wigan Building Services wants to build 15 apartments on land previously occupied by the Royal British Legion Club at 62-66 West Street, near the junction with Nevill Street and next door to the Grade II listed Wayfarers Arcade, in Southport town centre.
Designed by NMW Design Architectural & Planning Design Service, it would include nine, one-bedroom flats, and six, two-bedroom flats.
The firm has submitted a planning application to Sefton Council.
Plans for five, three-storey townhouses on the site was submitted by Leo Residential Developments Ltd in August 2018 but the scheme was never progressed.
In their statement, NMW Design said: “Care has been taken in the design of the proposed apartments to ensure compatibility with the existing surroundings.
“Building height has been restricted to ensure it does not exceed the adjacent apartment buildings.”
