Sefton Councils redevelopment of Bootle Strand was recognised as an exceptional project at the glittering Insider Liverpool City Region Property Awards

Sefton Council’s redevelopment of Bootle Strand was recognised as an exceptional project at the glittering Insider Liverpool City Region Property Awards.

Members of the team behind the project were presented with the Future Ambition Award for this transformative scheme which will see more leisure opportunities, new education and health services and additional green spaces in Bootle Town Centre.

Sefton Council has worked alongside local firm K2 Architects to create the ambitious project.

Voted for by the event’s attendees, the Future Ambition award celebrates outstanding projects that have passed a substantial recent milestone and will have a significant impact once completed.

Recently, Bootle Strand secured £20 million from the Government’s Levelling Up Capital Projects fund.

Once the project is completed it aims to boost the local economy by attracting more visitors to the town centre, as well as offering additional jobs and training opportunities for residents.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills said:

“Sefton Council has ambitious plans for the regeneration of Bootle and the redevelopment of The Strand is a key element of that work.

“We are committed to improving the area for residents, businesses and visitors and I am thrilled our efforts have been recognised by the LCR’s Insider Property Awards.

“The Future Ambition Award is a celebration of the most impactful and innovative schemes that will boost the City Region’s growth and this is certainly true when it comes to our plans for Bootle Strand.

“Our vision is to invest in reimagining Bootle town centre, creating a vibrant and inclusive place for everyone. Recently we secured £20 million of Government funding, and project development is progressing at pace.

Through our regeneration plans, we aim to create a flourishing town centre, which caters to the needs of our community.”

Kevin Horton, Architect director at K2 Architects, said:

“We’re absolutely overjoyed to win this award, especially because the competition was so strong.

“This recognition truly inspires us to keep putting in our best efforts for Bootle’s future prosperity.”
