Afternoon tea is coming to The White House Southport!

The stylish new brasserie and bar, at Southport Golf Links on Park Road West, is launching its newest offering on Saturday, 5th August 2023.

It’s an afternoon tea that’s a cut above with all the food creatively designed and freshly prepared by Head Chef Danny Bacha and his team.

The sandwiches will be made to order, while bespoke cakes, pastries, scones and colourful macarons will be freshly baked in the White House kitchen.

The afternoon teas are so fresh that they must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.

They cost £19.95 each when served with coffee or £24.95 each when served with prosecco.

The White House Southport has been busy welcoming customers after reopening its doors to the public in May as a brand new bar and brasserie after the building was empty and unused for several years.

It is operated by Sefton Hospitality Operations Ltd (SHOL), which already runs the Lake House in Waterloo and operates the Beach House concession at Ainsdale Beach.

Guests are now able to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer with their meal after the venue was granted a Premises Licence earlier in July.

Head Chef Danny Bacha is delighted to be bringing afternoon tea back to the venue after enjoying it there with his parents when he was younger.

Danny trained at Southport College before working under Marcus Wareing in London and has also worked at venues including The Strathearn at Gleneagles in Scotland, The Vincent Hotel in Southport and The Lake House in Waterloo.

He said: “The motivation to launch this is for people to be able to enjoy being together in a building which is perfectly suited for afternoon tea.

“The White House Southport has a very stylish art deco feel to it so when you come and sit down and enjoy afternoon tea here it has a really special feel to it.

“I really believe that afternoon tea should be a big part of the repertoire here.

“It’s one of the great British traditions, and it should be something that people want to eat.

“We are keen to make everything fresh and inside our kitchen.

“We put a lot of thought into creating the best afternoon tea we can. All the cakes, pastries, scones and macarons will change regularly so there is always something new and exciting for people to try.

“I am a firm believer that if an item of food is on someone’s plate, then it should be there for good reason.

“Afternoon tea is a lovely way of people or families getting together and sharing food.

“It is designed to be very intimate with people able to sit together and enjoy great food and great conversation.

“When families bring children with them it is a special way of making memories together.

“I remember coming here with my Mum and Dad for afternoon tea when I was young and it’s something I’ll never forget.”

Danny is delighted with the response from customers over the past few weeks.

He said: “Since we opened, we have been getting busier week by week.

“Being able to now serve alcohol to customers with their meals has been great news for us.

“We are very proud of what we offer at The White House Southport. We are really keen to shout about the place and get it to become as busy as we can.”

Open seven days a week, The White House Southport provides everything through breakfast, lunch and dinner, to afternoon tea and cocktails.
