Tributes paid to ‘dedicated, friendly and passionate’ KGV and Southport College maths teacher Clare Peacock

Tributes have been paid to Clare Peacock, a former maths teacher at KGV Sixth Form College and Southport College in Southport. 

The popular figure sadly died last month having first taught students locally in the 1980s. 

A KGV spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Clare Peacock, maths teacher at KGV Sixth Form College, who passed away in August following a short illness.

“Clare spent a significant part of her career with the Southport Education Group. 

“She served as Head of Maths at Southport College between 1986-2006 and had been teaching A-Level Maths at KGV since 2023.

“A dedicated, friendly and passionate teacher, she will be greatly missed by her colleagues and students alike. 

“The community at KGV Sixth Form College and the wider Southport Education Group send their deepest condolences to Clare’s loved ones during this extremely difficult time.”

Several people have posted their memories on social media. 

One said: “Clare will be remembered fondly for her constant cheerfulness, warmth, and her boundless energy as she moved through the college at full speed. Miss you already.”  

Another said: “Had the pleasure of knowing Clare. A ball of energy, a joyous soul who made everyone smile.”

Another said: “Such sad news. Clare was so enthusiastic and warm. She will be so missed by all.”
