Excitement has been building this week as the team have been busy behind the scenes, making changes to the interior and exterior of the much-loved restaurant to mark over seven years of Southern hospitality just a couple of miles outside the town centre, on Folkestone Road in Kew.

So, what to expect…

Guests can still expect the same warm and welcoming environment that Hickory’s is known for but can look forward to some changes.

Expect spacious dining areas with cosy booths and larger tables for get-togethers, along with Southern design touches to give the whole place a truly authentic feel.

The relaxed neighbourhood bar is the ideal spot locally for guests to pop in for drinks, it now boasts additional seating, with better views of the multiple screens, perfect for catching all the latest local and American sports.

And, with Southport being the home of Southport Flower Show the garden has also been re-imagined with brand new seating, and the signature huts have been replaced.

The new addition huts have comfy seating and their own heating – still the perfect spot even when the temperatures are more Southport than Southern States!

And of course they haven’t forgotten younger guests! There is an all-new outdoor play area for them to enjoy in the garden, along with the much-loved Movie Room which has had a refresh too.

Southport Hickory’s General Manager, Adam Findlay said:

“We cannot wait to welcome guests back after our refresh. We have loved re-imagining our spaces and getting the place ready for more BBQ, sport and good times!”

Adam, who started out as a server the day they first opened the doors, has been getting to know the locals for many years and is passionate about giving the community a truly authentic experience.

“We can’t wait to see what guests think of what we’ve done to the place. Hopefully, we will see lots of familiar faces from the past seven years. We’re so grateful to all our guests who have supported us since we first opened. And we’re looking forward to welcoming new guests and introducing them to all things BBQ.

“It’s great to be back doing what we love – looking after our guests and firing up the smokers.”
