As we approach Halloween and October Half Term, there are plenty of fantastic things to enjoy in Southport to look forward to! 

Here are 14 superb events this month that you won’t want to miss from Southport Oktoberfest, to Fear By The Pier, to 3D Halloween character trails and more! 

1 – Comedy Bingo Winter Socials

As colder days and darker nights approach, warm yourself up with the return of the Comedy Bingo Winter Socials! 

These popular fortnightly events are back at Southport Market, on King Street in Southport town centre, from Wednesday, 22nd October 2025. 

They will carry on throughout autumn and winter until April 2026. 

They are sponsored by Halliwell Jones Kia and are supported by the Sefton Council Tourism team. 

Doors open at 1pm for a 1.30pm start and run until 3.30pm. 

The Comedy Bingo Winter Socials are hosted by Comedy Bingo owner and local comedian Brendan Riley. 

Admission is just £3 each, which includes a free drink and bingo books. 

Players have the chance to win some fabulous prizes thanks to generous local businesses including Crystal Clear Opticians, The Atkinson, Southport Market, Silcock Leisure Group, Masters Putting Green, Southport Flower Show, Vue Cinema, FenneeKay Hair & Beauty, Tesco, Tapper’s Cafe and others. 

All the fabulous food outlets and the central bar in the Market will be open during the Comedy Bingo Winter Socials for anyone looking to enjoy some food while they play. 

2 – Southport Oktoberfest

The countdown has begun to “the biggest and best Oktoberfest that Southport has ever seen”.

Southport Oktoberfest will take place in a huge luxury marquee at Victoria Park in Southport with three sessions on Friday, 24th October and Saturday, 25th October 2025.

This vibrant festival features the Bavarian Stompers oompah bands, performers, DJs, a great selection of Bavarian beers served in two pint steins, delicious German food, and an opportunity to win a year’s supply of beer. 

Southport Oktoberfest organiser and Elite Events owner Mark Dilley said:

“Our plans for Southport Oktoberfest are going extremely well! Tickets have been selling fast.

“With just a few days to go they will really start flying out and we want to make sure that people don’t miss out.

“This is going to be the biggest and best Oktoberfest that has ever been seen in Southport!

3 – Sip, Paint & Pumpkins

£35, Sophie’s Play Café, Ainsdale

An evening for mums to unwind, sip something bubbly, and get creative while easing into the Halloween spirit. 

You’ll follow a relaxed, step-by-step painting session to create a beautiful floral paper mâché pumpkin to take home and display year after year.

Hosted by Sophie in our cozy café, filled with autumnal charm and a little sparkle of magic  Tickets go live on our booking system at 8pm tonight!

4 – Monster mashin’ 3D Character Trails 

Saturday, 25th October – Sunday, 2nd November 2025

Explore Southport town centre this Halloween by searching for moving monsters and ghoulish ghosts.  Pick up a trail map, scan the QR code at each location and watch as spooky 3D characters come to life.

Interact with the monsters and make sure to take as many selfies and videos as you can.  

Find them all and you just might be in with the chance of winning some great prizes too.

This new event has been organised by Southport BID. 

5 – Southport Autumn Flower Show

Southport Chrysanthemum and Gardening Society is once again inviting families to their annual Southport Autumn Flower Show, celebrating 75 years. 

It takes place at Marble Place Shopping Centre, Chapel Street, Southport 

Saturday, 25th October 2025 (10am-5pm) and Sunday, 26th October 2025 (10am-4pm) 

Free admission

Trophy awards and Grand Raffle Draw at 4pm on Sunday 

6 – The Grand’s Fang-tastic Family Halloween Party

8 – Fear By The Pear

Families are invited to enjoy the brand new ‘Fear By The Pier’ in Southport this autumn!

This Halloween themed event will take place at family attractions at Kings Gardens in Southport between 11am and 5pm on:

Friday, 31st October 2025

Saturday, 1st November 2025

Sunday, 2nd November 2025

Children will be able to meet at Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant on the Promenade, where they will be able to enjoy a Spooky Kids Meal and grab a ghoulish Goody Bag.

They can take a ride on the famous Silcock’s Carousel, and play 18 holes of crazy golf at Masters Putting Green.

Plus look out for a special appearance from Willow the Witch from Regally Royal Parties!

9 – Autumn Clothes Market  at Wayfarers Arcade

On Friday 31st October 2025, The Creator’s Studio inside The Engine Room at Wayfarers Arcade in Southport will transform into a seasonal Autumn Clothes Market selling high quality, second-hand children’s clothes. As well as a market, there will also be crafts, coffee and Disney’s Coco!

With a full day of exciting events, you can join them from 11am – 3pm for

A cosy afternoon screening of Disney’s Coco

Seasonal arts & crafts

This is sure to be a cosy and creative day that all the family can enjoy.

There are still spaces available for stall holders, so if you have bags of little people’s clothes you no longer need, this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of them.

This spooktacular event, which is for over 18s only, takes place on Friday 31st October 2025, from 7pm until late.

14 – Terrifyingly terrific tours at The British Lawnmower Museum

Book a Cutting Edge Guided Tour at Southport’s British Lawnmower Museum this Halloween and see the grass cutter of Great Britain’s most famous executioner, Albert Pierpoint’s grass cutter.

Albert the executioner hung 400 people and was paid £15 per execution. Coincidentally his lawnmower cost £15 – we wonder who paid for it.

Retired in Southport, Albert’s lawnmower will be on exhibition this autumn, along with the Grim Reaper’s scythes.
