What's on and when as new Experience Marquee at Southport Food and Drink Festival brings exciting new events

Foodies can look forward to a brand new Experience Marquee at the popular Southport Food and Drink Festival this year.

The event takes place at Victoria Park in Southport from Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st June 2025 with free admission.

For a further food and drink experience, visitors will be able to buy tickets for tantalising events including Buffalo Wings & Beer Tasting, Food & Wine Pairing, Bento Cake Decorating Class and more.

There will be just 18 tickets available for each of these paid events with early booking advised.

Friday 30th May

Just Wings – Buffalo Wings & Beer Tasting – £15

12pm – 12.45pm

Join us as we explore how a simple bar snack from Buffalo, New York turned into an American icon — and how perfectly it pairs with some ice-cold craft beer.

One Foot In The Grapes – Food & Wine Pairing – £10

1pm – 1.45pm

Guests will be greeted with a glass of welcome fizz when they arrive. We will then taste three wines without nibbles and then in a fun experiment we’ll taste each of them again with such things as lemons or a sweet biscuit to see how the wine taste changes!

One Foot in the Grapes is Jane Clare, a Sefton-based wine columnist and wine educator, who hosts wine events.

Neptune Brewery – Beer Tasting Session – £5

2pm – 2.45pm

Liverpool based Neptune Brewery has been brewing beer for 10 years and won numerous awards. Join Julie, co-owner of Neptune, for a taster session. We will guide you through the brewing process whilst you sample a couple of their beers.

Cake Corner – Bento Cake Decorating Class – £28

3pm – 3.45pm

The Bento Cake Class is an interactive activity for those keen to learn how to decorate these adorable miniature cakes. Our most experienced cake decorators, Leanne and Heather, will be demonstrating their skills step by step.

Southport Whisky Club Tasting – £15

4pm – 4.45pm

An introduction to Whisky. Peter and Victor will take you through four whiskys, each with their own taste and flavour profile.

Saturday 31st May

Cut and Taste – £15

12 noon – 1pm

Create your own culinary collage with Southport based Community Artist and Illustrator, Emmy Oranges. Inspired by the Food and Drink festival, and using real ingredients as inspiration, you will create your own fun, fresh & colourful collage to frame and hang in your kitchen!

Activity open to all ages and abilities but small children must be supervised by an adult. All materials will be provided.

Lancashire Mead – FREE (18+ only)

1pm – 1.45pm (as this is a free event, spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis)

Come Drink With The Gods – think you know mead? Too thick and sweet? Just for Vikings and Monks? Think again… sample the world’s oldest alcoholic drink with the multi award winning Lancashire Mead Company as they guide you through some interesting points and three flavours of mead.

Guests will be greeted with a glass of welcome fizz when they arrive. We will then taste a selection of three wines paired with cheeses.
