A top quality licensed Neapolitan pizzeria is now open in Hillside in Southport.

600 Degrees has forged a fine reputation since it was established in 2017, catering for outside events as well as operating one of the original food venues inside the successful Southport Market.

Owner Dan Johnstone has now opened a new venue at 66a Sandon Road, Hillside, Southport, PR8 4QD.

It is inside the former Korean Kitchen unit, which has relocated to Lord Street in Southport town centre.

People can eat inside, with outside tables becoming available once warmer weather arrives.

A click and collect service is also available via the 600 degrees website, with 10% off all pizza for takeaway.

There is a great choice of pizza including: Margherita; Pepperoni; Ham and Truffle Portobello Mushroom; Pizza Marinara and Olives; Pizza Diavola; Vegan; Pizza al Tonno; Veg Special; Italian Deli; and more.

Diners can enjoy a choice of red, white and sparkling wines, soft drinks, hot drinks, beers, cider and aperitivo.

600 Degrees owner Dan Johnstone said: “We are delighted to have opened our doors just before Christmas!

“It has taken a lot of hard work to get to this point but we have got here eventually.

“People have been asking us for ages when we would be opening.

“The response during our opening couple of weeks has been fantastic, people have been really positive. Word has been spreading fast.

“We have built up a really big following since we opened at Southport Market and customers are delighted they now have the choice to come here too.

“We offer really great quality traditional Neapolitan pizza. We make our dough fresh every day. Our ingredients, including our fior di latte cheese, are fresh and authentic.

“We bake our pizzas fresh inside a traditional Neapolitan stone pizza oven.

“Nobody else in Southport does what we do. Our pizza chefs are all well trained.

“We have 20 covers inside and will have more available outside once the weather gets warmer from April.

“People can order via our website and come to collect. We are looking to put together a delivery service soon, using our own drivers.

“Our opening hours currently are: Wednesdays and Thursdays 3.30pm-8.30pm; Fridays and Saturdays 3.30pm-9.30pm; Sundays 3.30pm-7.30pm.

“We will see how that goes and may amend our times as we get used to what people want to see.

“We are working on developing our menu. It is interesting to see which pizzas work better here and which pizzas work better at Southport Market!

“We are looking to offer some appetisers soon, things such as arancini, meatballs, king prawns. Please keep an eye on our social media and our website.

“We are always happy to be flexible. If someone has a pizza that they love ordering from 600 Degrees at Southport Market and we have the ingredients to create that here, then we will make it for them on request.”

Dan is delighted to have brought a brand new offering to Sandon Road.

He said: “We love being part of the Hillside community! It is a brilliant place to be, we all work really well together. Everyone is so friendly.

“Hillside is becoming a real destination in its own right and if we can help towards that by attracting more people, then all well and good.

“I get on really well with the owners of The Pines and The Grasshopper, which is right next door to us. If someone comes to us for pizza and we are fully booked then we have the option of finding a table for them inside The Grasshopper. Similarly, anyone enjoying some drinks in there can order pizza from us and we’ll serve it.

“We still have our L plates on so please be patient with us.

“Myself and the 600° crew can’t wait to see you.”

600 Degrees started when Dan and his wife went to the Amalfi coast of Italy on their honeymoon, also spending time in Naples, the home of Neapolitan Pizza.
