The site of the new Woollen Pig in Crossens in Southport

The brand new Woollen Pig cafe has announced it is opening its doors in Crossens in Southport in mid-May.

The original Woollen Pig Tap and Bakehouse has grown an impressive reputation since opening at 160 Duke Street in July 2021 offering a unique experience of a bar and a deli all in one.

Building work is current taking place to convert the former pharmacy on Rufford Road.

Owner Vici Bradshaw said: “We are beyond excited to share with you all our plans to grow.

“May we introduce to you WP2, a community hub based on the other side of town in sunny Crossens!

“Renovations are almost complete at the former pharmacy site at 164 Rufford Road as part of our collaboration with The Arch Workspace and their building team.

“We hope to open the Woollen Pig 2 in mid-May.

“We cannot wait to welcome you, expect:

“Brunch club

“Speciality blend barista coffee, served your way- both hot or cold

“Fresh pastries, both sweet and savoury

“Small plates and sharers

“Decadent desserts

“Rotational vendor pitch, showcasing some of the best up and coming street food in the North West.

“Live music

“It’s been a long six months, but we’ve fed the builders, they’re back at it and they’re feeling strong!

“Please follow the Woollen pig on social media for more behind the scenes and regular updates regarding our opening date.”
