Talented chocolatiers from Southport are hoping the owners of a local B&B enjoy the sweet taste of success when they star on the popular Four in a Bed TV series on Channel 4 next week.
Laura and Simon Stevens, who own Chocolate Whirled on Manchester Road, have enjoyed making custom made chocolates for Sarah and Ricky Blaney who run The Stamford guest house on Bath Street.
Now they’re excited to see the couple compete against three other guest house owners on TV over five nights next week.
Laura and Simon said: “We are really excited for our friends, the lovely Sarah and Ricky Blaney from the local Stamford B&B in Southport, who will be appearing in Channel 4’s Four in a Bed starting this coming Monday 22 March!
“We have got to know the family though attending our holiday workshops (pre Covid of course!) and enjoy making our special, branded chocolates for each guest who stays at The Stamford and look forward to seeing if they make an appearance for even a few seconds!
“We have links with a number of local hotels and B&Bs and wish them all the best as they must have been some of the worst affected businesses over this past year.
“Good luck next week Sarah and Ricky! Whatever happens, we know you’re fab, that your place is fab and that you’ll do a great job of promoting Southport to the benefit of all of us!”

The Stamford in Southport, particularly popular among golf enthusiasts, was recently awarded runner-up in the B&B / Guest House Of The Year category at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.
Owners Sarah and Ricky Blaney said: ““We thought that appearing on Four in a Bed would be a great way of flying the flag for Southport and to show what we have to offer at The Stamford so we said ‘yes, let’s do it’. Hopefully the programme shows off our beautiful town really well.
“Appearing on Four in a Bed was a really fun experience, we enjoyed it.”
