The former Pizza Express site at the corner of Lord Street and Leicester Street in Southport

The former Pizza Express restaurant on the corner of Lord Street and Leicester Street in Southport town centre has been put on the market – complete with pizza ovens.

The prominent glass-fronted building was occupied by Pizza Express until 2015, when it moved further towards the centre of Lord Street. The site has been empty since then.

It has just come on the market for rent with David Davies Sales & Lettings in Southport

The rent is £3,000 per calendar month, with the 2,600 sq ft building coming ‘fully fitted as a restaurant’, ‘very well presented’, a ‘large outside seating area’, with an ‘open-kitchen with pizza oven’.

The building is on the other side of the road from ‘The Grand’, which is due to open this summer on the site of the former Grand Casino building following a £3million transformation into a new brasserie, bars, and function room / wedding venue.

It is in the ‘Northern Quarter’ of Lord Street, which is developing a reputation for top quality hotels, restaurants and bars.

David Davies Sales & Lettings said: “This very attractive end-terrace building is fully fitted as a restaurant and occupies a prime corner position on Lord Street in Southport town centre.

“The premises are very well presented, retaining many of its original features and would be well suited to another restaurant, bar or café operator.

“Floor to ceiling glazing to the front and side elevations gives the restaurant a bright and airy feel.

“A large outside seating area is available across both Lord Street and Leicester Street. Also there is scope for c70 covers in the outside area.

“The restaurant is arranged over the ground floor and provides the following approximate floor areas: Ground: 2,600 sq ft. In addition, the existing lease also includes three residential flats at first floor level.”
