A talented Southport performer makes her West End debut this weekend!

Charlie Bence (Charlie Lewis) will perform in the play ‘Marvellous’.

Based on the life of Neil Baldwin, the production also makes its London debut.

Making it a triple first the theatre is The Place Soho, the first new West End theatre to be opened in 50 years.

Charlie is from Ainsdale and trained at The So Talented Academy of Theatre Arts then got a BA in musical theatre at UCLAN followed by an MA at Mountview Theatre School, London.

Charlie has performed in many shows both in the UK and internationally, returning home sometimes to teach special masterclasses at So Talented.

A graduate of Mountview Academy of Performing Arts with an MA in Musical Theatre, Charlie has also sung at various UK venues, including the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool with The Mike James Sound and Singers.

Marvellous tells the remarkable story of Neil Baldwin. Growing up in the 1950s in less enlightened times, Neil was not expected to be a success. But he decided he was destined to do wonderful things and that his life was going to be marvellous. And it is.

He hitchhiked across the country, became a famous clown, got an honorary degree from Keele University, was appointed Stoke City’s legendary kit man, appeared on the Queen’s New Year Honours list and accepted a BAFTA award for the film made about his life.

A friend to anyone he meets, he became a local hero and an inspiration to the world.

A reminder to us all not to let anything stand in the way of your dreams, just go out and make them happen.

Marvellous is being staged from Saturday 15 October 2022 – Saturday 26 November 2022.
