KGV Sixth Form College paid partnership
Thursday was a fantastic day of celebration and student success at KGV Sixth Form College in Southport, as students received their A Level, T Level and Level 3 Vocational Qualification results.
Students and their families were welcomed onto campus to collect their results and celebrate their achievements over breakfast with teachers, friends and classmates.
The KGV Class of 2026 celebrated an outstanding set of results, with a record number of students securing places at their first-choice universities.
Among those celebrating are students heading to some of the UK’s leading Russell Group universities, including the University of Cambridge to study Natural Sciences, Durham University to study Mathematics, the University of Liverpool to study Medicine and the University of Leeds to study Linguistics. Students are also progressing to universities across the country to study an exciting range of subjects, including Midwifery, Law and Chemistry.
KGV Sixth Form College achieved its best A Level results in five years, with a record number of high grades and an increase in the number of students achieving A* and A grades.
Students achieved strong results across KGV’s broad A Level offer, with successes spanning the sciences, humanities, social sciences and creative subjects. Among the many highlights this year were particularly strong results in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language and Psychology.
There was plenty to celebrate across Level 3 vocational programmes too, with a record number of Distinction and Distinction grades* and 100% pass rates achieved across a number of vocational courses, including Sport and Uniformed Protective Services. T Level Management and Administration also celebrated a 100% pass rate.
Michelle Brabner, Principal of Southport Education Group, said:
“This has been a fantastic day for the whole KGV community, and we are incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved. Their time with us at KGV is an important stepping stone into adulthood, and it has been wonderful to speak with so many of them about their future plans and aspirations.
“Their hard work and dedication have paid off, and we wish them every success as they take their next steps, whether that is progressing to university, embarking on a higher apprenticeship or entering the world of work. A Levels, T Levels and vocational qualifications are demanding programmes of study that challenge and inspire our young people, and these results are a real testament to the commitment they have shown throughout their time at KGV.
“I would also like to thank our students’ families and carers, alongside our fantastic KGV staff, whose encouragement, guidance and support have played such an important part in helping them achieve these results.”
