Determined dancers put on a superb night of glitz, glamour and generosity to raise over £50,000 for Queenscourt Hospice.

Eleven brilliant competitors and their pro dance partners at Strictly Queenscourt entertained a packed audience in the historic ballroom at the Prince Of Wales Hotel on Lord Street in Southport.

Those taking part included business owners, doctors, a teacher, and a Slimming World consultant, sharing Queenscourt’s ethos that life is for living.

Strictly Queenscourt is now firmly on the Southport calendar!

This is the second year this has taken place to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice and the response has been phenomenal.

The event saw Paul Jones and Chloe Judd winning the Audience Vote with Rob Beresford and Megan Hosker winning the Judges’ Vote.

Queenscourt Hospice Fundraising Manager Liz Hartley said: “What an unforgettable night!

“Strictly Queenscourt was nothing short of magical, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support and dedication of so many wonderful people.

“First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to our amazing contestants and their incredible professional partners.  Your hard work, dedication, and passion lit up the dance floor!”

This year’s competitors were: Louise Webster; Kate Edmondson; Raj Patel; Chris Upton; Shorna Warren; Dee Wright; Vicky Jones; Paul Jones; Nikki Lewis; Rob Beresford; and Adam Watts.

People on the night have already signed up for next year’s contest after seeing the amazing performances on the dance floor.

The presenters were Kelly Bond and Ian Lawson, while the judges were Alex Toal, Hayley Murray, Jim Briscoe and Ruffles.

Entertainment was provided by Hayley Murray and Ruffles.

The event was sponsored by Perfect Portal, Kingswood Homes, EFT Group Ltd and Home Bargains.
