A Southport woman who plummeted 11,000ft from an aircraft above the Lancashire countryside to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice says she “can’t wait to do it again”.
Jitka Wilson, the Manager at Hideaway cafe bistro in Southport town centre, completed her skydive at the Black Knights Skydiving Centre in Lancaster at the weekend.
She has already raised over £1,100 for the hospice, with people able to donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/jitkawilsonskydivequeenscourt
The former Assistant Manager at Coast in Birkdale Village took on the daring challenge, despite being terrified of heights!
Jitka Wilson said: “What an unforgettable experience, and all for such an amazing cause!
“Together we’ve already raised £1,110 for Queenscourt Hospice, but I’d absolutely love to raise even more!

“Wow! I still can’t believe I actually jumped out of a plane!
“Surprisingly, I was really calm on the day… well, until I got into that little plane! I was the last one to jump, and when it was finally my turn, my heart absolutely sank!
“But the moment I jumped, all that fear disappeared and was replaced by the most incredible feeling… I was flying like a bird!
“Since Sunday, I haven’t been able to wipe the smile off my face! And you know what? I can’t wait to do it again!

“I’d like to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has donated and supported me, especially my wonderful family and friends who came along on the day to cheer me on. Having you there meant the world to me!
“The fantastic team at Black Knights Parachute Centre made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. You were absolutely brilliant!
“I would honestly recommend this experience to everyone, especially if you can do it while supporting a charity close to your heart.
“Let’s see how much more we can raise!

“My JustGiving page is still open! If you’ve enjoyed following my adventure and can spare even a few pounds, please consider donating to Queenscourt Hospice. Every single donation helps support the incredible work they do for local people and families.
“It was an unforgettable adventure, an incredible feeling and all for a wonderful cause!
“I was so scared all those weeks leading up to the skydive as it was postponed due to bad weather but I have enjoyed every single second of it.”
She would also encourage others to take on a challenge to support Queenscourt Hospice.

Jitka said: “I was born in Prague and moved to Southport in 2013 with my husband Neil Wilson.
“My background has always been in hospitality.
“I have worked in a variety of hospitality outlets in Southport such as at Remedy, The Grand and worked for three years at Coast in Birkdale Village before becoming Manager at Hideaway.
“After having enjoyed a great night at the Queenscourt Strictly event at The Prince Of Wales Hotel in Southport last year and more recently the Star Trekk 10k walk in Southport I began to think what else I could do to help such a great local charity.
“I searched the Queenscourt Hospice website and came across the skydive challenge and crazily I signed up to do it!

“I had never done a skydive before and I’m terrified of heights so I thought what a great way to challenge myself.”
