The official launch of the 2024 Poppy Appeal in Southport will take place later this month, as a list was revealed of local venues where you’ll be able to buy your poppy.
Southport Royal British Legion President Cllr Clare Carragher will officially launch this year’s appeal at Southport Town Hall at 10am on Saturday 26th October 2024, all welcome.
Last year’s generosity by local people saw over £30,000 raised for charity, to support veterans.
This year’s Remembrance Sunday service will take place at Southport War Memorial in Southport town centre on Sunday, 10th November 2024.

Southport RBL wants you to know….
“It’s important to say that the Poppy Appeal and our Hub is run entirely by volunteers. We no longer put poppies and tins in every shop or venue, this was a huge task that took weeks of planning and weeks of delivering. We want to make this as efficient as possible in order to maximise fundraising.
“You’ll also find us out and about in Southport’s wonderful pubs, bars and eateries over the next few weeks with our buckets and card machine …. Come and say hello!
“Last year you helped us raise over £30,000 for the appeal, in just two weeks .. Thank you.”
Road closures
Remembrance Sunday services will require various roads throughout Sefton to be temporarily closed on Sunday 10th November 2024.
The closures will take place between 09.00 hours and 12.01 hours.
Access will be maintained for Emergency Services, and wherever possible for residents.
