Southport Pleasureland has launched a recruitment drive as it looks forward to reopening for 2022.
The popular venue, on Marine Drive, is looking forward to welcoming families back into the park and putting smiles back onto people’s faces after a challenging couple of years during the Covid pandemic.
Southport Pleasureland reopens on Saturday, 26th March 2022, ready to unveil some exciting new attractions.
They include a 35-metre high observation wheel with sensational views across the coast, and a Viking themed adventure golf course and longhouse eatery.
Southport Pleasureland is one of the biggest employers in the region, providing job opportunities for around 150 people each year.
The park offers a wide range of jobs from full-time to part-time, and can offer flexibility over shifts.
There is a wide range of people who work there from college students to more mature employees, with life experience much valued.
The venue is looking to extend its traditional opening hours all the time and is gearing up for a busy 2022 with lots planned.
It starts with two Recruitment Open Days taking place between 10am and 2pm this Saturday (5th March) and Sunday (6th March) at Casablanca at Southport Pleasureland. All are welcome.
Free parking will be available in the Southport Pleasureland car park adjacent to Casablanca. Vacancies available will be promoted via the Southport Pleasureland website.
The Open Days will be followed by induction training, and then the grand opening on 26th March.
After that comes the busy Easter holidays and the Summer holidays, but autumn and winter are busy too with exciting events such as the bustling Day Of The Dead Festival and lots of festive fun in the lead-up to Christmas.
There are lots of roles available at Southport Pleasureland throughout the year including: ride assistants; parking attendants; housekeeping; guest relations assistants; catering staff; cooks; gardeners, landscapers; and many more too. Operating the site is like running a small village.
Southport Pleasureland is always looking for a variety of other roles, from electricians, to mechanical engineers, to graphic designers and more. Even if a job isn’t advertised at the moment, it is always worth sending in your CV for consideration.

“We employ electricians, mechanical engineers, graphic designers, landscapers, gardeners, ride assistants.
“Some people think that all we have here are people standing on the spot and pressing the button to operate a ride. The reality couldn’t be further from the truth. We are far more than that.

“We have people here who are on apprenticeships, who are taking courses at college.
“People here can enjoy rich and rewarding careers, with the experience gained here giving them opportunities to work in Dubai, in Florida, at attractions across the world.
“We have a lot of university and college students working here, with the hours available fitting in with their studies and their term times.
“We also welcome people who have great life experience, parents, grandparents, older people who can help to mentor some of our younger workers, and who offer superb customer skills.
“We want to be able to encourage as many people in the town as possible to come and work here. Our priority at the moment is encouraging people to apply.
“There is a complete mix of full time roles, part time roles, shifts; people can be flexible with the hours they work.
“There is a real family atmosphere for people working at Southport Pleasureland, it is a lovely place to work.
“We are expanding, and we have some very exciting plans for the future. We want to give more jobs to more local people. We are growing, and we need more people to join us.”
Southport Pleasureland opens for the 2022 season on Saturday, 26th March, ahead of the Easter Holidays.
