Paul Gardner from Southport has won £10,000 cash in time for Christmas through SPAR's Win With Every Goal promotion

A Southport man has won £10,000 cash in time for Christmas through SPAR’s Win With Every Goal promotion.

Paul Gardner, 50, was selected at random as the winner of the grand prize from one of 44,000 entrants who have played Win With Every Goal at participating SPAR stores in the North of England.

Paul, who is a Logistics Manager for WLC Online Auctions, played the game at his local SPAR store at Roe Lane in Southport.

He is set to marry his partner of four years Stephanie in 2024 and is planning to spend the money on the wedding, a family holiday, and a few other items on his wish list.

Paul said: “When I first took the call, I absolutely could not believe that I had been chosen as the winner. I thought it was a wind up.

“I’m over the moon with the cash. It’s an unbelievable feeling. We could not afford to get married next year, so we pushed it back to 2024 to save the money needed. Now we have £10,000!

“Some of the money will go to the wedding, and we’ve also a big family holiday to Tenerife next year to look forward to. I’m getting a new TV and a proper coffee machine which is something I’ve always wanted. I think I might upgrade a couple of my partner’s Christmas presents too.”

Taking place throughout the biggest football tournament of the year, Win With Every Goal has been run by James Hall & Co. Ltd, SPAR’s primary wholesaler and distributor in Northern England.

The campaign has really struck a chord with customers and has been the company’s most successful ever promotion in terms of its total £100,000 reward pool value, redemption rate, and the level of participation.

As well as the entrant numbers, the virtual scratch card element of the game was played 480,000 times across the tournament period, and at one stage, there was a new entrant every 48 seconds. The campaign’s redemption rate has also been well above 20%.

By entering and playing at www.everygoal.co.uk, SPAR customers had the chance to win £200 every day and score one of thousands of instant rewards redeemable at participating SPAR stores.

Customers could choose whether they won an instant reward every time their team scored or conceded a goal, and they were alerted via text message to claim their reward via a digital voucher.

The SPAR campaign was supported by a range of big-name suppliers including Coca-Cola, Mars, Britvic, Walkers, Red Bull, KP Snacks, Lucozade, Pringles, Batchelors, Barr, Weetabix, and Andrex.

Paul added: “The campaign has been great as there has been something to win every day. There’s been a lot of prizes and I’ve been playing along with friends and colleagues at work.

“I first spun the virtual wheel and got USA and I won a bag of chocolates and a few entries to the grand prize. When I spun the wheel again, I got South Korea and picked them to concede. They conceded a few to Brazil and that won me few extra entries for the £10k.

“I’m a regular at the SPAR at Roe Lane as it is my local store and it’s fantastic. The butchers is great and the fresh food is brilliant too. With campaigns like Win With Every Goal, I’m looking forward to playing along with future promotions there as well.”

Tom Murphy, Marketing Manager at James Hall & Co. Ltd, said: “I would like to congratulate Paul on winning our Win With Every Goal campaign and I’m absolutely delighted for him and his family.

“The grand prize of £10,000 is an incredible present just in time for Christmas, and it sounds like he has some lovely plans for the cash.

“The Win With Every Goal campaign has been hugely successful and has broken all records for a James Hall promotion, achieving our ambition of driving footfall into our SPAR stores and rewarding our loyal customers.

“I would like thank our SPAR stores for really getting behind the campaign, Abraxas Marketing for supporting us to deliver an outstanding promotion, and our much-valued suppliers for their generosity and commitment.”

James Hall & Co. Ltd serves a network of independent SPAR retailers and company-owned SPAR stores across Northern England six days a week from its base at Bowland View in Preston.

  11. With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any methods to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d definitely appreciate it.
