The Winter Sale has now begun at Smiths TV!

The big trend this year is a huge demand in energy efficient items as people are more aware of their energy usage.

Heat pump tumble dryers, combination microwave ovens and air fryers are all proving to be very popular.

The independent family–run firm has shops in Southport, Ainsdale, Formby and Burscough, while its website and impressive new warehouse in Burscough means that it can supply goods with next day delivery to people across the UK.

In order to enable employees to enjoy a quality Christmas with their families, the firm has given them time off on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and 27th December.

All four shops are back open again on Wednesday 28th December.

Smiths TV Director Mark Wright is encouraging people to ‘Shop Local’ and to support local firms as they look to bag the biggest bargains.

He said: “We have a winter sale which starts now! We don’t tend to label it Boxing Day sales as we like to give our staff time off over the Bank Holidays so they can enjoy time with their families. Our four shops will reopen on 28th December.

“We have seen a big demand for energy efficient items as people are more aware of their energy usage. Heat pump tumble dryers, combination microwave ovens and air fryers have been popular as they offer massive energy savings and will feature in the sales.

“Customers looking to upgrade old TVs or appliances could see big savings in energy usage compared to older models which were made to be less energy efficient and can use 20-40% more energy than newer equivalents.

“Whilst the sales are one it may be a great opportunity to upgrade old appliances to newer energy efficient models.

“We have a huge range of savings across a wide selection of quality goods, with really competitive prices as we are determined to match-price any of the big chains.

“The added advantages we have are that we have people working in our stores who are hugely knowledgeable, passionate and experienced.

“We guarantee to give you excellent customer service, both at the time of sale and also afterwards for anyone who has any questions or anything they need any help with.

“We really value our customers, and people who visit our shops know exactly who they will be dealing with – it makes a big difference being able to put a face to a name and maintaining that relationship. It’s why we get so many repeat customers.”

This year Smiths TV has invested £1 million on a huge new warehouse near Burscough in West Lancashire.

It allows them to stock all the biggest brands and sell them at competitive prices, before ensuring they deliver them to people quickly.

The firm is famed for its extensive choice of quality TVs but it also sells and installs other white goods including washing machines, dryers, washer dryers, cookers, ovens, microwaves, TV accessories, DVD players, fridges, freezers, fridge freezers, dishwashers, and small appliances such as blenders, bread makers, heaters, irons, kettles, toasters and vacuum cleaners.

The list of brands that customers can choose from is extensive and includes: Bosch, Neff, Miele, Hotpoint, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Hoover, Candy, Indesit, Sonos, Roberts and Siemens.

Mark Wright said: “We are very much here to help with any questions people might have, whether that’s about purchases they are looking to make, or with any questions in the days and weeks afterwards.

“We have four great shops in the Southport, Formby and West Lancashire area, while our warehouse means that we are able to offer next day delivery nationwide.

“When you look at our prices and then consider everything we offer on top of that, there is really no reason to shop anywhere else.”

Smiths TV is based at: 114 Manchester Road, Southport; 84 Station Road, Ainsdale; 31 Chapel Lane, Formby; and 4 Smithy Walk, Burscough. Call their Sales and Advice Hotline on: 01704 531854 or visit: www.smithstv.co.uk

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SMITHS UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY AND BE ABUSED AS I HAVE BEEN.
    STEER WELL CLEAR
In Sept 2020 I bought a brand new Hoover Tumble dryer and paid for a 5 year extended warranty on it from Smiths in Manchester Road, Southport.
My previous 2 Tumble dryers (Bosch) were bought from Smiths in Burscough (same company).
At the time of purchasing these machines Smiths told me that they should last many more years beyond the extended warranty of 5 years whilst pushing me into taking out the 5 year warranties just in case. Their warranties are with a company called Pacifica who Smiths refer to as “Retracare”. Smiths claim that “Retracare” look after you in the event of a breakdown. Pacifica on their website claim to offer “same or next day repairs by fast reliable local engineers UK wide”. This is a complete and utter lie.
I paid Smiths in full for all machines, and 5 year extended warranties on all of them.
All machines broke after 2 years, the latter a brand new Hoover Tumble dryer, broke after 3 years and Pacifica booked a repair engineer to come out 2 weeks later as of Nov 2nd 2023. Then they cancelled the engineer rescheduling for 16th November 23. Then 2 more appointments were cancelled.
Not happy with Pacifica I phoned Smiths and asked them to help as I am an OAP suffering in the wake of being attacked in my home and left with a fractured hip, shoulder injury and arthrosis in all fingers on both hands and I am unsupported living alone. Peter who sold me the Hoover Machine via Smiths to my horror said “What do you expect from a cheap tumble dryer, yours is nearly 3 years old now and they are only meant to last 2 years”. This was the opposite of his stance at the time of purchase when he said I was buying a good brand and it would last and told me that he could no nothing as the matter is for “Retracare/Pacifica” to deal with. I was far from impressed with his dismissive and audacious attitude of “I couldn’t care less”.
I ended up reporting this to Trading Standards and having to pay an engineer to fix my machine and this cost me my whole weeks pension.
Smiths were told by Trading Standards to compensate me, because Pacifica refunded me on the warranty leaving me to now pay for repairs going forward.
Richard Kenyon from Smiths has refused to compensate me, despite promising to replace my tumble dryer and then withdrawing the offer when I paid for mine to be fixed as I could not do without my dryer any longer with laundry mounting high at home. He has left me feeling connect out of hard come by money and I will never buy anything from this awful company again and I warn you not to either. They are a bad company with no respect for their customers.
Their attitude and service is diabolical and they should be prosecuted and closed down by Trading Standards for bad trading practice. Waste of money. Utter rip off.
