Southport Learning Trust is celebrating national recognition after being shortlisted for the TES Trust of the Year Award, for trusts with nine schools or fewer.
The Trust says this is “a prestigious honour that highlights the Trust’s commitment to excellence, safety, and community collaboration”.
At the heart of the Trust’s work is a focus on the whole child and the wider community.
Recent initiatives include a powerful partnership with #KnowKnifeCrime, which has seen the introduction of bleed control kits in schools and the rollout of Mini Medics first aid training, empowering students with lifesaving skills and awareness.
The Trust also champions a ‘Team Around the School’ model, uniting families, local services, and professionals to create strong, wraparound support for students and staff alike.
Ian Raikes, CEO of Southport Learning Trust, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for the TES Trust of the Year Award. This recognition reflects the hard work, compassion and collective spirit of everyone involved in our schools — from our dedicated staff and governors to our amazing students and supportive families.
“Our vision is built on strong values and meaningful partnerships. Initiatives like our work with #KnowKnifeCrime are just some examples of how we’re working beyond the classroom to build a safer, more connected and aspirational future for our young people.”
The Tes Schools Awards recognise the very best teachers and schools from UK state and independent schools, across early years settings, primary and secondary with an expert panel of judges composed of leaders in education selecting a shortlist for 22 categories.
Jon Severs, Editor of Tes Magazine, said:
“We’ve seen some incredible entries nominated in this year’s awards. The Tes Schools Awards are a highlight of the year, and it’s important that we properly recognise the fantastic work that’s been done in education across the academic year.”
Winners will be announced on 20th June at a gala at the Grosvenor Hotel, Park Lane, London.
