A Make Eurovision Great Again (MEGA) campaign has been launched – with Southport entering the race to represent the United Kingdom at the 2023 Eurovision with ‘The Spinning Wheel’.
Starring Southport’s own internationally renowned performer Rebekah Hinds featuring a song penned by domestically renowned maestro Guy Unsworth, Southport – the shimmering jewel in the North West’s crown – today begins its journey to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2023.
The song and an accompanying music video has recently undergone post-production and with final edits completed.
The Executive Producer of the music video (NODA nominee Matthew Green) said: “Southport deserves the glory, and we believe Eurovision’s UK offering next year deserves to be a camp, seaside-town, club banger. Watch this space!”
The 22nd May 2022 (International Day of Biological Diversity) is rumoured to be the day ‘The Spinning Wheel’ is shared with the world and due to propel Southport into the stratosphere.
The webpage for further details of the Eurovision campaign along with the music video’s publication on the 22nd of May can be found by searching ‘SouthportEurovision2023’ on Facebook.
It is also anticipated the song will be available on Spotify and various other streaming platforms.
