A shop manager in Southport has smashed her fundraising target after braving her first ever skydive.
Emma Woodall, who manages Lakeland Leather on Lord Street, leapt from an aircraft over the Lancashire countryside on Saturday to raise money for the Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Emma wanted to do all she could to help after the horrific tragedy at the Hart Space in Southport in July in which three young girl;s were killed while several girls and adults were severely injured in a knife attack.
The initial fundraising target for Emma was £500, but it now stands at £1,400 and climbing.

She has raised further funds through a raffle which was held at the shop, with the winners drawn by Southport BID CEO Rachel Fitzgerald on Tuesday.
Local businesses showed huge generosity in donating some fabulous prizes.
Emma said: “I jumped from 14,000 feet. It was absolutely amazing!
“I felt so emotional after I did it.
“I actually didn’t feel nervous at all. I just embraced every moment.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this incredible experience. It was better than I could ever have imagined.
“I’m just glad I could show my appreciation for the outstanding work that Alder Hey Children’s Hospital did after such tragic events that took place in Southport.”
Emma is among people who have done what they can to support the community after the tragedy in July.
She said: “Witnessing the incredible unity of the Southport community in response to this tragedy ignited a determination within me to take action.
“The recent events in Southport have shed light on the remarkable work of the hospital, and I’ve been profoundly moved by the courage and resilience of the children at Alder Hey.”
As manager of Lakeland Leather on Lord Street, the road which has seen hundreds of floral tributes and memorials for Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King and Elsie Dot Stancombe, Emma is committed to ‘do her part and assist those in need’.
