Southport’s Victoria Park was bursting with flavour and festivities this weekend as tens of thousands of visitors enjoyed one of the town’s most anticipated annual events, the 2025 Food and Drink Festival.

Running from Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st June, the festival brought together more than 100 traders offering a mouth-watering range of food, drinks, and artisan goods. A significant number of these were talented local traders, showcasing the best our region has to offer.

From sizzling street food and indulgent desserts to locally brewed drinks and handmade crafts the event catered to every taste. For the first time ever, the festival also featured an Experience Marquee, a brand-new area offering a range of exciting, ticketed sessions designed to take visitors’ festival experience to the next level.

Food lovers from across the North West gathered to sample the sights, sounds and smells of the three-day celebration all set against a backdrop of live music and family entertainment.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said:

“The Food and Drink Festival is always a special weekend in Southport, and this year was no exception.

“It was fantastic to see Victoria Park alive with people enjoying themselves, discovering new flavours, and supporting local and regional businesses.

“This event is a real boost for Southport. Our local shops, cafes and restaurants benefit from the footfall, and many small independent traders have the opportunity to reach thousands of new customers.

“A huge thank you goes to our brilliant Tourism team and everyone involved in delivering such a successful event. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what 2026 has in store!”

The event continues to grow in popularity and remains a key highlight in Sefton’s vibrant events calendar. Sefton Council’s Tourism team turns its focus to the Southport Air Show, returning in August, followed by the British Musical Fireworks Championship in September.

Cllr Lappin added:

“Southport’s event season is just getting started. The Air Show promises another spectacular experience with aerial displays, interactive exhibits, and entertainment for all ages. If you haven’t already, make sure to get your tickets and be part of something special.”
