Southport businesses have come to the rescue of customers to help them through the Coronavirus outbreak.
Many Southport supermarkets and shops saw shelves stripped bare of essentials such as toilet rolls, paracetamol, UHT milk, pasta, rice, tinned food and other goods during panic buying at the weekend.
And yesterday the Government urged people to maintain physical distances from others, with some vulnerable groups of people told to self-isolate for the next 12 weeks. They include the elderly, pregnant women and people suffering from underlying health problems.
But a variety of Southport business owners have stepped up to help local residents in their time of need by offering to deliver food and other goods to those who need it.

Stand Up For Southport founders Phil Gee and Andrew Brown said: “These independent local businesses have done an amazing job in mobilising to help people who are suddenly left feeling stranded or cut off by the sudden Coronavirus outbreak.
