Southport FC fans who are missing their usual fix of visits to Haig Avenue can enjoy a return to the ground with a new ‘Walkabout Wednesday’ initiative.
The club will be open this Wednesday (May 27) allowing supporters the chance to walk around, and have a sit down to admire the beautiful pitch.
Matches have been suspended since the coronavirus outbreak escalated in the UK in March.
A spokesman said: “As part of the work of the Southport FC Community Foundation to promote participation in healthy recreation, we are delighted to announce that we will be opening the Pure Stadium on a weekly basis for supporters.
“Every Wednesday, fans will have the opportunity to walk around the paddocks at the side of the pitch and enjoy a seat in the Pure Business Group Main Stand which we have all missed in recent months!
“A one-way system with social distancing will be in place and we request that all visitors use the sanitising stations upon entering the stadium, before and after using the bathrooms.
“The stadium will be open from 12pm – 1pm and access will be via gate 5 (located beside turnstile 13).
“We look forward to seeing you back at the ground!”
