Birkdale High School in Southport is proud to announce the publication of its latest Ofsted inspection report (April 2026), which recognises the school as delivering a strong standard of education, with effective safeguarding and significant strengths across curriculum, leadership, personal development, and inclusion.
Inspectors praised the school’s ambitious curriculum, high-quality teaching, and deeply embedded culture of inclusion, alongside the strong relationships between staff and pupils.
The report highlights that pupils are eager to learn, feel safe, and benefit from a supportive and aspirational environment.
Headteacher Gareth Banks said:

The school will continue to build on this strong foundation, with a focus on further improving attendance and outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged pupils.
