Scott Blundell has been appointed as the new Community Foundation Lead at Southport Football Club’s Community Foundation. 

He is eager to connect with people and organisations in the town who can help to “further enhance our foundation’s presence and impact both locally and beyond”.

Scott will start work on developing the club’s community activities programme. 

A Southport FC spokesperson said: “We are delighted to introduce Scott Blundell as our new Community Foundation Lead.

“Scott was appointed recently with the assistance of The Big Help Group.

“Scott will be dividing his time between Haig Avenue where he will be leading on reintroducing and developing our community activities programme and Big Help’s apprenticeship academy in Kirkby.

“Scott has a long background in developing and running educational and training programmes and has worked on various community football, adult and young people learning and training programmes and initiatives around the Liverpool City Region. He also has experience of bid writing and fundraising for various different community projects.

“We have little doubt that Scott will be a great asset to what we are trying to develop in our local community.” 

Scott Blundell said: “I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Community Foundation Lead at Southport Football Club’s Community Foundation. It is a great privilege to take on this role, and I am eager to embark on this journey to further enhance our foundation’s presence and impact both locally and beyond.

“As a passionate advocate for community development through sports, I am committed to raising the profile of the SFC Foundation and achieving its goals. I bring a background in football, education and community, I am confident that we can make significant strides in promoting our mission to enrich the lives of our local community through football.

“I am eager to connect with key stakeholders, partners, and supporters in the area to build strong relationships and collaborations that will help us achieve our objectives. If you have any insights, suggestions or opportunities to share, I would greatly appreciate your guidance and assistance in this endeavour.

“Over the next few weeks, I will be reaching out to various individuals and organisations to discuss potential collaborations and initiatives. If you have any recommendations or contacts who may be interested in supporting our cause, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

“I look forward to getting to know the Southport local community, and I am excited to work together with all of you to achieve our shared goals. Let’s spread the name and impact of Southport Football Club and the Foundation far and wide, I anticipate a bright and successful future for our foundation.”
