Southport FC

Two goals in the opening 9 minutes and it was all over as a contest for Southport FC on Saturday as Darlington deservedly picked up the three points.

Slack marking in the defence allowed Main to fire home after just six minutes and it got worse 3 minutes later when Cornish scored direct from a wind assisted corner and it was back to the wall from then on.

Darlington comfortably played out the rest of the game with chances for the visitors few and far between. The second half when Southport were playing with the wind turned into a non event oa a very disappointing afternoon which still leaves us looking around at other results and the game against Rushall next Saturday, our final home game of the season takes on a bigger degree of importance.

Southport FC sit just three points above the relegation zone with two games left.

Massive credit to everyone who made the trip up yesterday.

We now need everyone to come out and support for our last home game of the season next Saturday, as we host @ROFCOfficial in what is a huge fixture.
