A new era starts for Southport Football Club today (Saturday, 19th August 2023) as they face Boston United at the Big Help Stadium, with a 3pm kick off.

After 514 League games and 660 in total the Liam Watson management dynasty came to an end this week.

A new era starts today under the caretaker management of Andy Burgess and David Morgan.

Southport’s last Home game was against Warrington Town on 5th August, which was watched by an impressive crowd of 1,522 fans.

A Southport FC spokesperson said: “Our visitors are Boston United and the kick off is at the usual Saturday time of 3pm.

“It’s a time for everyone to pull together and support Andy and David and the 11 players that take to the pitch.

“Tickets are on sale here and matchday programmes can be ordered in advance here for Click and Collect. Programmes will be on sale in our Club Shop and around the ground on Saturday.

“A reminder that this season there are no cash turnstiles and the online (from midnight Friday) and on the day price increases by £2.50 per ticket.

“Our Club Shop will be open from 10.30am on Saturday.

“Boston have started the season with a draw at Buxton, a win at home to South Shields and a defeat on Tuesday at home to Tamworth.

“We will bring a full review of the Liam years in the Chorley Matchday programme.”
