Darren Court, Commercial Manager at Southport FC and Southport FC Vice President Andrei Le Roi

Southport Football Club have announced the honour of the Adam Le Roi Man of the Match Trophy for the 2024/25 season, in honour of a passionate Sandgrounders supporter at the age of just 25 years old.

The club will also offer mascot places to children in Sefton who might otherwise not have the opportunity to be a mascot – free of charge.

A Southport FC spokesperson said: “We are delighted to announce the confirmation of both the Montgomery & Le Roi Mascot Programme and the Man of the Match trophy for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign, thanks to Club Vice President Andrei Le Roi.

An Award Dedicated to Sandgrounder and Son Adam Le Roi

“Andrei, his wife Diane, and family lost their son and longstanding Port fan, Adam, aged just 25, in tragic circumstances in November 2020.

“The ‘Adam Le Roi Man of the Match Trophy’ will continue to recognise not just Adam’s love for the game, but most importantly his love for Southport Football Club.

“This initiative has been supported by the generosity of Andrei Le Roi, one of the Club’s valued vice presidents, and his family.

“Alongside their gift from long standing sponsor Southport Brewery, MOTM winners will receive the Adam Le Roi Man of the Match Trophy.”

A Mascot Programme with the Community in Mind

The Montgomery & Le Roi mascot place is offered as a community-focused programme, enabling a child from within the Sefton borough region, who might otherwise not have the opportunity, to be a mascot at our club free of charge.

The Montgomery & Le Roi mascot package includes two free adult tickets in the main stand, a Southport FC shirt, a matchday programme, the opportunity to meet Port’s players, a pre-match kickabout on the pitch, leading Port’s players onto the pitch, a photo of the pre-match coin toss with the captains—it’s a truly unforgettable experience.

Darren Court, Commercial Manager at Southport FC, said:

“The two sponsorships are extremely valuable to our club, and we thank Andrei for his unwavering support.

“I know how much the Man of the Match Trophy is appreciated amongst the playing staff, and the Montgomery & Le Roi Mascot place further develops our ties within the local community.”
