Comedy fans are in for a treat this October with award-winning UK comedy legend Jeff Green making a special journey from Australia.
Jeff lives Down Under these days, but he is flying back to the UK to perform his latest hit show ‘Recovering Optimist’ at this year’s Southport Comedy Festival.
The 11th annual Southport Comedy Festival takes place once again under canvas at Southport’s Victoria Park in a luxury heated and seated marquee courtesy of Elite Marquees.
Jeff Green will appear on Friday, 14th October. Tickets are on sale from 10am this Wednesday.
His impressive stand-up comedy background spanning over 30 years on the world comedy stage features a solo West-End season, three full length UK TV comedy specials, two Australian TV comedy specials, and countless appearances on TV gala specials and comedy panel shows in the UK and Australia– including Spicks and Specks (ABC), Good News Week (Ten) and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala (Ten).
A best-selling author with his books selling over 300,000 copies. Jeff has maintained his celebrity on UK radio and TV. His BBC Radio 2 comedy series The Green Guide to Life attracted audience averages of over 3 million radio listeners. UK TV appearances include two seasons of Celebrity MasterChef, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and a stint as team captain on Bill Bailey’s Birdwatching Bonanza. In 2013, he released a new DVD titled Jeff Green Live! which was recorded at Australia’s oldest continually operating theatre – Hobart’s glorious Theatre Royal.
In 2015 Jeff returned to Edinburgh Fringe by invitation to perform a season for legendary ‘Big Four’ Fringe venue The Gilded Balloon’s 30th anniversary, and in 2018 Jeff was invited back to the UK to headline the inaugural Chester Comedy Festival, where he once again achieved critical acclaim and sell-out performances
